Everything Apple Market

Come, enjoy and listen to the Robin O'Herin on September 12th.

Enter the Everything Apple Contest.

Our contest rules are as follows:
  • There will be winners in two categories:  Junior (for budding chefs  under 12) and Home Cooks.  Professional chefs and Committee Members are invited to submit entries that will not be judged.
  • One Grand Prize and one Most Original Prize will be awarded in each category.
  • Any kind of made-from-scratch apple recipe that can be served at room temperature can be entered.  (Because there is no refrigeration available, items requiring refrigeration should not be submitted.)
  • Use of local ingredients is encouraged, and extra points will be given accordingly.
  • No nuts of any kind should be incorporated into any dessert.
  • Include a complete recipe with ingredients and procedures listed.  Local ingredients should be noted with source.
  • The baker's name and contact information should be included with  the recipe.
  • If the recipe is not original, the origin should be noted.
  • Any kind of pan or plate may be used.  The Committee will make every effort to return pans or dishes to their owners but cannot be responsible for lost items.  Mark the pans/plates clearly on the bottom if you want them back, or use disposable items that can be recycled.
  • Entries should be dropped off on September 12th anytime between 3:00 until 5:30 PM.  Anyone unable to get to the Market during those hours can call 917.209.0926 to discuss other arrangements.
  • Entries will be awarded from 1 - 10 points based on the following criteria:
    Overall Flavor
    Presentation  
    Texture 
    Originality 
    Use of Local Ingredients
  • The judging will take place at approximately 6:00 PM
  • At the conclusion of the contest, all entries will be offered to members of the public who make monetary contribution.
  • All donations will benefit the West Stockbridge Farmers Market.
  • There is no entry fee.
  • If anyone wishes to contribute an item that will not be judged, that would be most welcome.

Let-Your-Maple-Imagination-Soar Contest

May 23, 2013 sweet or savory contest rules are as follows:
  • Entries must be able to be served at room temperature and contain maple syrup.
  • Submissions request by 5:30 PM for 6:00 PM judging.
  • Recipe must be included with list of ingredients -- local ingredients encouraged.
  • Plates/containers must be disposable or clearly marked to be returned.
  • Professionals very welcome but will not be judged; Vendors and Committee very welcome but not judged.
